How can I find out the best current CD rates? - cd rates massachusetts

Do CD (certificate of deposit) varies considerably between different banks and financial institutions? I think some money in a CD to be available when I placed the school. The rate held that the Bank 4.80% at 2.5 years, which sounds good for me. How do I find the best price?

Thank you in advance.

  1. Try an online savings bank such as ING, GMAC, HSBC. All have good rates and low down payment required.

My bank gives me 5% if I $ 10,000! LOL.

  2. It's just a good price if you think prices fall again. As they near historic lows, which is unlikely. 6 months and 1 year at over 5 %.... Only in your own interest if the interest rates have declined. You can find the latest prices please go to the link below. Different banks have different prices. Search online for better.

  6. The interest rates vary between banks. Most traditional banks, banks with branches, they have very high prices because the amount of overhead they have to be maintained. Small banks generally give higher prices because they have fewer branches and fewer employees in general.

NetBank is a reasonable price. Internet banks such as NetBank and eBanka, can offer much higher rates than traditional banks because they pay the same amount of effort. NetBank two-year CD 5.01% APY, but actually a better rate over a period of six months or a CD per year. Both are 5.20%. NetBank, and is a member of the FDIC and therefore does not lose, make your money.
